Academic Achievement is important to BYA, therefore we are introducing a new program in which we would like to recognize participants for this well deserved achievement.

To be considered a BYA Scholar:

·         Grades 1-12 (Public, Private or Home School)

·         Have a 90 or above GPA on their most recent report card.

·         Current BYA Participant

To participate:

Mail a copy (it will not be returned to you) of your child’s most recent report card to Jody Stockton, 805 Sierra Vista Drive, Burleson, 76028.  When providing the first report card, include a copy of the attached form so that we can get your child’s certificate and decal returned to you.  Unless your contact information changes there is no need to include the form with each new report card for your child.

Recognition:

Your child will be recognized by BYA, in the Burleson Star and on our website.  For the first recognition, each child in the program will receive a certificate of achievement and a vehicle window decal. 

If your child maintains the 90 or above GPA each reporting period throughout the year their level of recognition will be as follows:

Three consecutive 90 or above reporting periods will result in a certificate noting them as a Silver BYA Scholar, with a new decal including the level.

Six consecutive 90 or above reporting periods will result in a certificate noting them as a Gold BYA Scholar, with a new decal including the level.

After two consecutive years of a 90 or above average on each report card, they will receive a certificate noting them as a Platinum BYA Scholar and a new decal including the level. 

Questions:

What if my child’s current average is below a 90 GPA on his or her current report card, but they want to be considered for the recognition?  If the sport that they are currently enrolled in is still on-going when the next report card is received and the 90 or above has been reached, they will be considered a scholar at that time. 

What if my child doesn’t participate in year round sports with BYA?  When you register them again for their favorite sport, provide the copies of the report cards from the time they last participated until now.

What if my child attends the Academy of Nola Dunn?  We have been provided a conversion chart to allow us to calculate the GPA for the students at the Academy.
